Kathy Taylor
Miss Kathy grew up in Ravenna, Ohio, where she started dancing over 25 years ago. When she moved to Northern Virginia, she continued her training with the Fairfax County Youth Ballet, and she went on to study with Stephanie Young and Adrain Bolton, a noted DC teacher and choreographer. Miss Kathy began dancing at Centreville Dance Academy when she was 16 years old. She went on to become an instructor in 1992, and to become the owner of Centreville Dance Academy in 1997. Miss Kathy holds a BS in biology from George Mason University, where she also completed a minor in dance. Additional training includes Dance Masters of America Teachers Training School, Power Pilates, Miss Kathy’s former students’ credits include dancing with the Radio City Rockettes, Washington Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Washington Redskinettes, Dancin’ Unlimited, and others. Many of her students have gone on to be dance majors at the university level. Several of these students are currently teaching dance classes and working as professional choreographers. She and her husband, Paul, are the proud parents of twin dancers, Robert and Elena.
Brooke Miller
Brooke began dancing at the age of three at the Manassas School of Dance where she studied ballet and tap. Later she moved to Centreville Dance Academy where she took classes in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and lyrical. She was a part of Centreville Dance Theatre and performed in many regional dance competitions. In high school she continued dancing with the Manassas School of Dance in their productions of Copellia and Don Quixote as well on her high school dance team. Upon graduating from Stonewall Jackson High School, Brooke attended Radford University where she graduated with a BFA in dance. Brooke was a member of the jazz company Dancin’ Unlimited from 2005 to 2008 which performed throughout the area including the Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap and at the Jazz Dance World Congress in Chicago. Aside from dancing Brooke enjoys reading, baking and horseback riding.
Tiffany Miller
Ms. Tiffany started dancing at age three. She received most of her dance training from Centreville Dance Academy as well as dancing with the school’s company Centreville Dance Theatre. While in high school Ms. Tiffany performed with the Manassas Dance Company in their productions of Coppelia and Don Quixote. Ms. Tiffany graduated from Radford University in 2005, where she received a BFA in Dance. In her four years there she performed in their annual production of The Nutcracker as well as other faculty and student choreographed shows. In addition to dancing, Ms. Tiffany choreographed dances of her own. From 2005-2008 Ms. Tiffany performed with Dancin’ Unlimited, a professional jazz dance company in Fairfax, VA. This is Ms. Tiffany’s 10th year teaching at CDA. When she is not dancing, Ms. Tiffany enjoys reading, watching movies, shopping and playing with her Doberman Pinscher, River.
Becky O'Bryan
Ms. Becky graduated from James Madison University in 1997, where she focused the majority of her training in modern dance and performed with the Contemporary Dance Ensemble. She began her teaching career with Centreville Dance Academy in 2004, and became a certified Pilates instructor before moving to New York in 2008. In New York, she taught ballet, contemporary, modern and Pilates at Syracuse University, Le Moyne College and several local studios. Her New York performance and choreography credits include Syracuse Contemporary Dance Company, Take Away Dance (in New York City), Vision of Sound with the Society of New Music, and Syracuse University’s Faculty Dance Concerts. She continues her training through local & Master classes, and by attending various teaching conferences. She is thrilled to be returning to the wonderful staff and students of CDA, her home studio.
Heidi Stafford
Miss Heidi has been dancing and performing since the young age of 3 and hasn’t stopped since! She was trained locally in tap, jazz, and ballet, and was fortunate to have been a part of acclaimed companies Tappers with Attitude Youth Ensemble and DC ARTistry Tap & Drum and DC MetroTap. Since the age of 16, Heidi has been teaching and choreographing in the DC Metropolitan area and prides herself in giving her students a comprehensive tap education, providing them with a strong technical foundation, a complete understanding of musicality and rhythm, and promoting and preserving the history of rhythm tap. Miss Heidi has served as the artistic director of the BDC Tap Project as well as DC MetroTap, an adult performance company, and is currently the head coarch of the James Madison High School Varsity Dance Team in Vienna, VA. Throughout the years, Heidi has had the opportunity to perform at a variety of venues including A Capital Fourth: America’s Independence Day Celebration with the National Symphony Orchestra, The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, The Parade of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the Jack Guidone Theatre, and Wolf Trap, just to name a few. Most recently, Heidi’s choreography has been performed at the Kennedy Center as part of the 2010 Kennedy Center Open House, the Ellington Theater as part of the annual DC Tap Festival, the International Children’s Festival held annually at Wolf Trap, and the Ernst Cultural Center. Heidi is a proud graduate of George Mason University where she studied elementary and special education. When she is not dancing, Miss Heidi enjoys reading, going to the beach, shopping, and spending time with her two girls Tanner and Landry.

Diane Strickland
Miss Diane is the smiling face you will find in the studio’s office during our evening classes, and she has been the backstage coordinator at our recitals for the past 11 years. Miss Diane’s daughter, Molly, danced at Centreville Dance Academy for 10 years and is now a dance minor at James Madison University. Her son, Chris, also took tap and jazz classes at Centreville Dance Academy for 3 years. During the day, she works as a senior buyer for Fairfax County Public Schools, and during her non-working hours, Miss Diane enjoys singing in two church choirs.
